Sean Juárez

Front-end web developer and designer.

Code

Code is my passion. I've had over four years' experience working as a front-end web developer. I've worked in small studios developing sites for clients and in large companies working in-house on web projects. I believe in writing hand-crafted, semantic markup that is performant, uses progressive enhancement and is accessible to as many users and devices as possible. I the web.

Languages

I'm proficient in the following languages:

  • HTML (including HTML5)
  • CSS
  • LESS/SASS
  • JavaScript (including jQuery)
  • PHP

Technologies

Content Management Systems

I've worked with several CMSs including:

  • WordPress
  • Concrete5
  • Drupal
  • ASP.NET (limited)
  • Django (limited)

Version Control

I've collaborated with developers and managed my code using version control systems such as:

  • Git (including GitHub)
  • Subversion

Responsive Web Design

Responsive web design takes advantage of the latest CSS3 technologies to adapt a site's layout and design to whatever screen is being used to view it (thereby eliminating the need to create separate desktop and mobile versions of sites). Nearly all the sites I've included below are responsive.

Design

I've had almost as much experience designing as I have coding. I studied graphic design at Brigham Young University but put my studies on hold temporarily to pursue a career as a front-end web developer.

My design experience means I care as much as the designers I work with about making sure the sites I build look as good as they work.

Software

I've developed using several programs including:

  • Coda
  • Sublime Text
  • Dreamweaver
  • Microsoft Visual Studio

I'm also very well versed in:

  • Photoshop CS6
  • Illustrator CS6

Included below are examples of some of my work. Unless otherwise noted I was the sole front-end developer for each project.
